Coombe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park

Dartington Glass

Tarka Trail Cycle Hire

Hired from Barnstaple train station, bikes can be hired to cycle the 21 miles of flat, traffic- free track around north Devon

Tarka Pottery Studio

Have a go on a potter’s wheel, pottery painting etc.  Lots for kids and adults but needs to be booked in advance.

The Big Sheep

Live shows – including sheep racing, roller coaster, indoor play area, animal farm, fairground rides, jumping pillows, café and restaurant .

The Ultimate Adventure Centre

Wipeout Experience (including the big red balls) coasteering, archery, laser tag, high ropes and zip wires.

Watersmeet Gorge Walk

Jet ski safari (10-13 year olds as passengers), 14-17 can drive on safari. Over 18 jet skis, cuba diving, cliff jumping etc.

Wildlife Cruises

Available from Ilfracombe (booking required).  Cruises often see porpoises and dolphins.

Food and takeaways

The Castle pub in Landkey is a 5 minute walk away.  A high standard of food for lunches and evening meals and a friendly atmosphere.

The Portmore Golf Club is 5 minutes drive away and has a bar and café, perfect for lunch with views across the course.   No need to be a member or to play golf!  www,

Other local pubs include The Bell Inn in Chittlehampton (good food, we would particularly recommend their locally caught fish and chip night)

The Stags Head at Filleigh bar meals and restaurant, but make sure you have booked as it is very busy (and a little more expensive).

The New Inn at Goodleigh, friendly pub with good food.

Award winning fish and chips from a van which will be outside the village shop from 5pm to 6pm every Monday.

McDonalds drive through and restaurant, 5 minutes away, EX32 8PB

The village shop is a 5 minute walk away and stocks essentials, also includes a Post Office.

Tesco is the nearest supermarket, 5 minutes away EX32 8PG, where there is also a cashpoint machine and petrol station.
